THE FIRST BESPOKE PERFUME

Born of a special order for the Empress Eugénie in 1853, Eau de Cologne Impériale was the first bespoke fragrance in Perfumery created by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain.

A SUBTLE AND FRESH FLORAL COMPOSITION

The famous Eau de Cologne Impériale strikes a harmony around refined floral accords. Its fresh citrus notes of lemon and bergamot flirt with petitgrain, while the floral magic of neroli softens this citrusy bouquet.

BERGAMOT ESSENCE

Also known as “Calabrian Green Gold”, this precious citrus fruit brings an exquisite green floral citrusy freshness.

NEROLI

The neroli essence is obtained by distilling orange blossom. A fresh floral, it is distinguished by its green and citrusy accents.

LEMON PETIT GRAIN ESSENCE

The essential oil obtained by distilling the leaves and branches of the lemon tree enriches the zesty, botanical note.

PERFUMER SECRETS

Eau de Cologne is a style exercise and a rite of passage for Guerlain perfumers. Each generation has played the game, creating their own interpretation. Eau de Cologne Impériale was created by Pierre-François-Pascal-Guerlain, founder of the House, in 1853. Born of a special order from the Empress Eugenie, this Eau de Cologne earnied its creator the title of "His Majesty's Patented Perfumer".

LEGENDARY BOTTLE

In 1853, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain was appointed the official perfumer to her Majesty the Empress Eugénie. He created Eau de Cologne Impériale for her, along with the Bee bottle, custom-made by the glassmaker Pochet du Courval and covered in 69 bees, the emblem of the Empire. This legendary bottle continues to enshrine the elegance and history of Guerlain’s perfumes, revisited here in a sprayable version for the Colognes created by the five generations of perfumers.
