Iris Pallida Extrait 6 reveals iris in its most perfect olfactory expression at Guerlain, unveiling a truly sophisticated signature from within. Abounding in precious, exceptionally powdery iris butter, its enveloping softness turns intense, in an ultimate concentration of 30%.

The Guerlain Perfumers have enriched the characteristically powdery facet of iris with notes of almond and musk. This powdery softness is next swathed in a velvety, leathery note akin to white suede, then strengthened at its heart by the creamy texture of sandalwood.

Iris Pallida Extrait 6 is part of the Les Extraits Signature collection of extracts, which embody the quintessence of the Guerlain scent trail. This collection pays homage to the alchemy of the Maison’s iconic signature, Guerlinade, by highlighting the six raw materials within it and revealing the golden number of each one.

EXTRAIT 6 FOR 6 YEARS

6 is the golden number of Guerlain iris. Precious iris Pallida* – the most valuable iris in perfumery due to its slow cultivation process – requires 6 years to develop its most beautiful olfactory characteristics. Corresponding to three years of cultivation and a further three years of drying, this long period lets it reveal its unparalleled powdery florality and grow rich in irones, the precious molecules that bestow it with its exceptional quality.

THE IRONE-RICH IRIS PALLIDA IRIS BUTTER USED BY THE MAISON WAS FIRST EXALTED IN 1906 WITH APRÈS L’ONDÉE. CELEBRATED MAGNIFIED IN 1912 WITH L’HEURE BLEUE, THIS EXTRAORDINARILY POWDERY IRIS HAS SINCE BECOME A GUERLAIN SIGNATURE.

Inspired by the Guerlain heritage Square Bottle (1870), the iconic L’Art & La Matière bottle has been decked out in gold for Les Extraits Signature. An exceptional object crafted by Pochet du Courval – historic glassmakers for the Maison – this contemporary-style jewel of a bottle can be infinitely replenished at selected Guerlain boutiques.
