In 2025, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Habit Rouge, Guerlain presents Habit Rouge Spirit: a fragrance sublimated in oak barrels, the result of a singular manufacturing process. A precious case for this extraordinary creation has been created: a one-litre Bee Bottle, hand-painted in fine gold and adorned with a deep red leather sheath. Using rare traditional craftsmanship, this exclusive object, produced in 30 numbered pieces, pays tribute to the equestrian world of Guerlain’s iconic masculine fragrance.
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Habit Rouge, the first amber fragrance for men in history, Guerlain is offering a new variation on this evergreen creation. Habit Rouge Spirit expresses the vision of an increasingly rare luxury: time. The fragrance is first matured in two oak casks, each with different olfactory properties linked to the age of their respective woods. In prolonged contact with the wood, the fragrance slowly develops its characteristic notes. This is followed by meticulous blending to find the perfect balance between the fragrances from the two barrels, giving birth to this new composition.
Born in 1965, Habit Rouge established itself as a new kind of masculine fragrance, where the scents of undergrowth mingle in a trail of leather and tobacco, evoking horse races in the forest and the smell of riding saddles. An original expression of this symbol of French elegance, Habit Rouge Spirit opens with liquor-like citrus notes. A masterful leathery, spicy heart, blending iris notes and nutmeg, finally reveals an amber base built around two luxurious vanilla essences. Faceted by deep, round and woody oak notes, this trail unfurls a sophisticated signature of extraordinary richness.
A marvel of elegance and refinement, this exceptional edition pays tribute to Habit Rouge’s inspiration: the equestrian world so dear to Jean-Paul Guerlain. Adorned with sixty-nine golden bees hand-painted by Pochet du Courval artisans, the iconic Bee Bottle is dressed in a sumptuous red leather sheath made from calfskin. Guerlain’s emblematic bees are embossed in the skin, which reveals its luxurious suppleness to the touch. The piece is finished off at Orphin by the expert hands of the Dames de Table who tie a leather cord around the neck of the bottle.
