Guerlain presents a brand-new, one-off artist’s Exceptional Edition, crafted as an ultimate celebration of the House’s symbol, and its eternal source of inspiration and commitment: the bee. Behold this work of art created entirely by bees! In collaboration with Slovak artist, Tomáš Libertíny, the House unveils a never-before-seen creation whereby the iconic Bee Bottle is whisked away into a poetic universe untouched by time.
02 TOMÁŠ LIBERTÍNY: AN AVANT-GARDE ARTIST COMMITTED TO NATURE
Tomáš Libertíny’s fascination for the beauty and intelligence of nature drives his creation, while his works explore humankind’s interactions with the living world. It was while watching bees at work that he discovered their artistic potential and thus began a collaboration with these sentinels of the environment: “The first time I saw the fruits of their labour when they finished one of my sculptures, it was like time stood still. I couldn’t put my feelings into words.”
03 THE EXPRESSION OF SUSTAINABLE CREATIVITY
Given their shared commitments, it was only natural that Tomáš Libertíny should team up with the house of Guerlain to create an Exceptional Edition that symbolises biodiversity and bee protection, while exalting the permanence and creative force of nature. The work honours the building power of bees.

04 BEE BOTTLE TURNED BEEHIVE
For Guerlain, Tomáš Libertíny has designed a daring adornment where the bee plays the role of artist. The artist has given the bees free rein to work and create. The result is a gorgeous piece of art: a bottle adorned with a honeycomb-shaped wax decorative trim, akin to the structures found in the hive. Embodying a message of commitment, this world-exclusive masterpiece elevates nature to the rank of art while keeping the bee as a sentinel.
“It took the bees around one month to finish adorning the Bee Bottle. To obtain this result, we had to show patience and be respectful of their work. It was fascinating to watch because pure wax is actually white to begin with. Then, with the bees’ pace of life, the pollen and the honey, it takes on these ambery tones.”

05 LE JARDIN DE LA REINE
The Guerlain Perfumers have crafted an exclusive fragrance to go along with the bottle: Le Jardin de la Reine. Composed of 90% naturally derived ingredients, the eau de parfum evokes a flower-filled paradise where bees come to forage. The floral accord of bulgarian rose and ylang ylang reveals a heart of solar white flowers such as tuberose, sambac jasmine and grandiflorum jasmine from Grasse. The sensual, woody base is marked by white musks and moss. An ode to beauty and nature.

Ever since landing on the iconic Bee Bottle in 1853, the bee has remained a constant source of creative inspiration for our creations and artistic collaborations. A sentinel of the environment now under serious threat, it has transcended the symbolic to become a guide for our sustainable commitment. Guerlain has striven to protect this precious pollinator for over ten years, having devoted to it a number of meaningful partnerships and initiatives within the “Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme”.
