The fragrance of a feminine revolution

Amid the effervescence of the late 1960s, she fully embraces the winds of freedom that are blowing through society. Her heart beats to words found in Françoise Sagan’s La Chamade as she claims herself to be mistress of her own life and equal to men. Buoyed by the famous novel and the energy of a social revolution in progress, Jean-Paul Guerlain designed his own Chamade with a perfume that broke with the codes of the time. Dedicated to liberated women, this green ambery floral blends the fruity accents of blackcurrant buds with a dynamic hyacinth accord and galbanum on a vanilla base. A bold embodiment of freedom, both to be and to love.

A legend of free love, coloured with blackcurrant and hyacinth

With Chamade Guerlain brought the green and fruity accents of blackcurrant bud refreshed with the green harmony of hyacinth to perfumery for the first time. This symphony is enhanced by Guerlain’s signature “Guerlinade” in which jasmine, vanilla, and sandalwood reign supreme.

HYACINTH ACCORD

Designed by Raymond Guerlain in 1912, its iconic “inverted heart” bottle is underscored with graceful scrolls typical of Art Nouveau.
