For Delphine Jelk, the cherry laced with provocative charm at the heart of Cherry Oud calls to mind the bright, glossy red that Jeff Koons uses to coat his creations. Crafted in chrome steel, this artist’s most iconic works are then finished with gleaming, vivid red. Cherry red, of course.
Oud wood
Black by nature, oud is considered to be one of the most mysterious materials used in perfumery. The penetrating fragrance of this precious substance lies in its resin, secreted from the core of the wood.
Grown sustainably and harvested by hand following a time-honoured ritual, the oud chosen by Guerlain Perfumers is sourced from the forests of Bangladesh on the border with Assam. Its essence exudes elegantly woody scents with leathery, subtly animalic tones.
With Cherry Oud, oud wood is dyed with a cherry note.
